Bridget Camacho, MSW, LCSW, AASW
Executive Director
Bridget is a licensed clinical social worker who specializes in adolescent and family treatment, experiential therapy, and animal-assisted interventions. Bridget received her master’s in social work and her Animal-Assisted Social Work Certificate from the University of Denver. Throughout her professional career, Bridget has focused on mental health and how experiential therapy and animal-assisted therapy can facilitate physical, emotional, and mental healing. Bridget believes in the importance of relationships in the healing process and understands how the relationships individuals have with people, animals, and nature can help them heal and grow into the people they are meant to be.
She has worked with adolescents and families throughout her career as a residential therapist, family therapist, intensive outpatient program manager for teens and families, and as a program director at a therapeutic boarding school. Bridget enjoys working with youth and families to help them build self-confidence, strengthen their relationships, and find their paths in life. When not working, she spends much of her time reading, writing, being outdoors, and spending time with her dog and three cats.
Mick Masterson, CADC
Chief Executive Officer
Mick Masterson, a seasoned professional with over 15 years of experience in mental health and substance abuse treatment, serves as the chief executive officer. Throughout his career, Mick has taken on various roles, including direct care, counseling, enrollment, managing transitional living, developing programs, and overseeing operations. Mick’s focus is on ensuring that the Red Oak Recovery® programs uphold exceptional standards in delivering quality and effective services to clients while maintaining high safety and accountability measures. He achieves this through outstanding recruitment, training, and mentorship initiatives, aiming to hire the most qualified and caring staff to provide impactful clinical and holistic treatment services.
Mick’s own recovery journey allows him to deeply connect with our clients and families, providing support and sharing his personal experiences, strength, and optimism. He strongly trusts in each person’s capacity to conquer challenges and dedicates himself to guaranteeing our clients get the care, help, and tools necessary to make impactful transformations in their lives.
Apart from his work, Mick is a dedicated and appreciative dad to his three daughters. In his free time, he treasures the moments with his partner, Carrie, their girls, and their adored pets. Embraced by the beauty of western North Carolina, Mick leads a life of giving back and thankfulness for the blessings his journey of recovery has brought him.
Dr. Brady Schroer, DO
Medical Director – Psychiatrist/Addictionologist
Dr. Brady Schroer earned his Bachelor of Science in biopsychology with a focus on chemistry. He pursued his medical education at Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences. Following medical school, he completed his general psychiatry residency at a renowned psychiatric clinic. Dr. Schroer later gained experience in a large hospital environment for five years as a psychiatric hospitalist. In this role, he cared for geriatric patients, managed psychiatric cases on medical floors and ICUs, facilitated alcohol and benzodiazepine detoxifications, administered ECT therapy for depression, and held positions as medical director and chief of psychiatry.
Dr. Schroer relocated to western North Carolina in 2007 to take on the role of medical director for the inpatient psychiatric unit and detoxification unit at a leading local hospital, serving in this position for seven years. More recently, he has been providing care to clients aged 15 and older in sober living houses, residential programs, and various outpatient settings.
With extensive experience spanning various facets of addiction treatment,
Dr. Schroer empathizes with the struggles faced by both patients and their families. Viewing addiction as a maladaptive response to past emotional trauma, he emphasizes that healing emotional wounds is crucial to breaking the cycle of substance abuse. Dr. Schroer’s compassionate approach involves empowering clients through education about their condition. Drawing insights from his interactions with clients, he guides others toward a path of serenity and recovery.
Dr. Schroer, a Christian, enjoys car racing, golf, photography, and the great outdoors. Living in Asheville, NC, is a true blessing for him.
